Zambia in Pictures - Installment Two

If you missed installment one, go back one post to see those pictures, and then return here. Yesterday I gave you key players, campus life, and home life. Today, I give you what we did for fun...

Or, maybe I should say new experiences we had as a team...I don't exactly call putting a 10 foot python around my neck fun. Chapo had no problem with it; he got quite up close and personal.
Meghan and I both decided we couldn't do it solo, so we'd do it together, and let the guy who works at the reptile farm hold the head. Stephanie, who worked at a zoo, says to me, "it feels like a basketball - it's not slimy at all." She was correct...except that no basketball I've ever felt has muscles inside which move and feel really creepy on your skin. Meghan had a hard time joining me...
...and I had a hard time waiting for her to join me.
So, with a little help from the snake guy...
...we finally conquered the python...sort of.
Nelson, the country leader of the Navigators, didn't have any problem at all.It was a fun bonding time as a team.

Another new experience, which I actually did do for fun, although it freaked me out, was bungee jumping. As we were waiting to register (and sign our lives away), Sarah went around and got our "pre-bungee faces." Emily...

...Lydia...
...Jake...
...Steph...
...Nate...
...Sam...
...Meghan...
...Janeen...
...Chapo...
...Sarah...
...and me.
This is the bridge from which I plummeted myself 300 feet down toward crocodile infested waters. No big deal, really.
Before the jump, I was a mix of nerves...
...and excitement.
With a final wave to my friends...
...I went for it.
It was a thrilling flight.
Stay tuned for installment three and a look at our campus ministry.

Love the python pics. Did you know that python is actually my middle name? It makes a great stole. I can see it now as the next thing on Paris runways: live pythons being worn down the catwalk. Don't you forget that you did it first!
