Our view from the suite. We were way out in left field, but who can complain when you're watching from the comfort of a posh suite? Not I.
And now, on to being a homeowner. I never knew there was so much to learn about toilets. Did you know that you can pull the whole tank off and take all the parts inside out? Note that I'm dutifully reading the instructions.
By the way, when you purchase the flush valve, you should read on the box that it doesn't include a new rubber gasket, and you should purchase a new rubber gasket as well, because the old rubber gasket is likely to be very icky.
And, finally, hot-off-the-digital-camera pictures of our women's night last night. We broke up into groups with each class represented and went out to dinner to get to know each other better. I had the pleasure of going out with sophomores Ashley and Julia, senior Cori, junior Alicia and freshman Kaitlyn.
After dinner, we all went back to The Strudel (my house) to hang out and connect as a larger group. We were all chatting away happily and I was making cookies and brownies when without warning the power went out. Suddenly there was a single light coming from the backyard, and as I opened the curtains, there were the Nav guys, holding roses. (Okay, okay. So I knew they were coming. How else would I know to get to the back door so quickly?) The gentlemen serenaded us with "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" and a rewritten rendition of "My Girl". What can make me feel this way? Nav girls!
My roomies with our roses.
We all felt so honored. A dance party and several great conversations later (Zambian marriage traditions, anyone?), Robin, Diana, Lori and I sat praising God for how He used the night to create genuine connections between the women of the ministry. It was definitely a sweet time.
