The End of a Two-Year Adventure

The morning after Ryan and Ariel's engagement, Dustin, Steven and the Strudel ladies got up at the crack of dawn to drive to Colorado Springs. Okay, maybe not quite the crack of dawn, but certainly an earlier hour than I had experienced in awhile. We made our way the Glen (Navs headquarters) and, for me, my last EDGE Summit.

When I first came on staff, I was part-time, and so I wasn't required to go to any training at headquarters - all my training came from Bryce on campus. After a year, I decided to go full-time, and my choices came down to joining EDGE Corps, which would involve being part of a class of EDGErs and going to five training summits, or doing what is called "entity" staff, and continuing my training solely on campus. I am SO grateful that Bryce and Joe (my regional director) encouraged me to join EDGE.

From incredible high-caliber speakers to practical, insightful workshops, to lifelong friendships with kindred spirits, to having a blast while playing in Colorado Springs, I cannot imagine how different my experience would've been without EDGE. In particular, I have loved sharing life with friends who are doing the same thing with the same vision all across the country. They have been an encouragement and a delight for the past two years, I will miss them greatly.

The sweetest time of this last summit for me was actually the last night. We had the opportunity to serve communion to each other, affirm strengths in one another, and pray together. I loved getting the chance to thank some of my dear friends for the impact they've had on me, and for the depth of their friendships. I know it's not possible to keep in touch with all 60+ members of my EDGE class, but I'm grateful for the few friendships I know will be for life, and for the truth that we will all get to party together for eternity!
I didn't get many pictures from the trip, but my friend, Kelly, took these on our fun day at Elitch Gardens amusement park in Denver.
Alyssa, Sandy and I decided to do the XLR8R ride, where they attach you to a big cable, pull you up incredibly high, and let you drop and swing. I have to say, although it was exhilarating, nothing quite compares to bungee jumping in Zambia last year...
