I wonder if that day started out normal for most people. I wonder if most of the folks in Jerusalem woke up expecting to go through their regular routine, or if they knew that something significant was happening within their city's walls. I wonder how many of the crowd just happened to see a mob and decided to follow it. Or did word travel fast enough that everyone knew of the arrest of Jesus the previous night? Even if they knew, did they understand how monumental it was? Did they start to get a clue when the sun was blotted out of the sky? Or did it take the earthquake to bring them to their senses? Or did it not sink in until they saw the broken and empty tombs, and all sorts of dead people walking around? Even then, did they get it?
Would I have gotten it?
