The graduation of my roommate, Cori (on left), from nursing school. She recently started her new career as a bone fide RN.A visit from one of my dearest friends, Meghan, all the way from Pennsylvania. We had to go to the beach because it's San Diego, but it happened that we went on a cloudy, kind of chilly, and eventually rainy day.
My own birthday at Callaway Winery in Temecula.
I already wrote about Ann's engagement. We went wedding dress shopping a few days later. (You're not allowed to see the pictures of her in the dresses. Those are top seceret.)
I also took classes for 2 1/2 weeks, learning how to be an Event Manager. I don't have any pictures of that. It's been quite awhile since I've had to sit in a classroom for 7 hours every day. It was pretty intense.
And, for the last week, I've been on wedding planning overdrive. Ann and Berry are getting married at the end of next month, and I am privileged to have been hired as their wedding coordinator. Two months isn't a lot of time to plan a wedding, but we've felt God go before us as we make decisions, and a lot of things have come together rather quickly.
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I've been working with LaVonne, and I've actually gotten to do set-up at some weddings. I don't know if you realize this, but I kind of like weddings...and boy, oh boy, have I seen and heard some crazy things. Like a wedding I helped at with a lamb as ring bearer. Or the planner who told me about the wedding she did where the building across the street caught on fire, and so all of the guests at the outdoor wedding were covered in ash. Or how she also told me that she learned the hard way that fondant cakes will implode if you leave them outside for too long. From the random to the awful to the unfortunate, none of them have scared me away yet. I still think it's incredible that I get to help people throw the best parties for the most special occasions. You keep your eye out...before you know it, A Joy Forever Events is going to be a thriving San Diego based wedding planning firm.
