I'm Thankful

  • For getting to spend time with my family, with all of their quirks and idiosyncrasies.
  • For good food.
  • That I still get to eat good food today, due to the invention of leftovers. Pumpkin pie for breakfast, anyone?
  • That it's finally starting to cool down - I even had to put on my jacket this morning. Granted, it's a mesh jacket, so it's full of holes, and actually can't really be qualified as a jacket, but the point is, it's cool enough for me to wear something over my t-shirt.
  • For old friends I haven't seen in awhile, but with whom I'm able to pick up right where we left off.
  • For the Body of Christ, and the fact that I don't have to do this walk alone.
  • That the Christmas season has officially started, and that I'm listening to Bing Crosby's White Christmas even as I write this.
  • For my parents, and the fact that upon waking up this morning, I got to hang out with them in my pjs, talking about life, eating pie, and playing sudoku together for a couple hours. Not that we played sudoku for a couple hours - then we would be fanatics. There are no sudoku fanatics here...What we did for a couple hours was all the aforementioned things, of which sudoku was only one part.
  • For times with God spent cuddled up in a comfy chair looking out over my parent's absolutely gorgeous and serene backyard.
  • That God likes to spend those times with me.
  • Most of all, that God chose to redeem my life from the pit, that I might gaze upon His beauty and dwell in His house forever.
