Okay, I'm a little more rested (though I think it might take a few weeks to fully recover), and I think that I might be able to do better justice to the events of the past few weeks.
At the end of October I joined about 150 other members of EDGE Corps in St. Louis for our summit. It was a sweet time to reconnect with my friends. I am continually struck that I could feel so connected with some of these people even though we only talk about every six months. God knew what He was doing when He created the Body of Christ.
On November 1st we were joined by about 1300 other Nav staffers for the National Conference. Although it was a lot to take in in the midst of an already hectic schedule, I loved getting a renewed vision for giving away my life. There was something about being in a room full of people from twenty-somethings to eighty-somethings who love Jesus and want to live for Him which was so rejuvenating for my soul. My parents also came to the conference, so I was able to have some good time with them, which was much-needed.
After we got back from St. Louis, we had four days and then we went to Rocky Point to build houses with ASU Navs. I think I used more cell-phone minutes in those four days than I typically do in a month. We had a ton of setbacks, but it was incredible to see God provide. Ultimately the trip ended up a huge success. We took 151 people, built three houses for three families in approximately 48 hours, and had a team of students do a children's outreach. I am still recovering from the whole process, but I can already see how the benefits from this trip far outweigh the costs.
It's hard to believe Thanksgiving's just around the corner. So many things to do, and so little time. Story of my life.
