So, I'm not sick anymore, but I'm still tired. I'm not quite sure how this came to be, but my life as of late is just a series of trips. Trips are usually pretty good. Some trips are fun, some are filled with input, some are times of rest, some are service-oriented, some include all of the above.
My latest trip - to Seattle, WA to visit my sister - I might describe as a vision-casting, relationship-building, sight-seeing, God-seeking, not-much-sleeping, too-much-eating kind of weekend. I was only gone for three and a half days, but when I got home it felt like I had been gone for weeks. That's the kind of whirlwind trip it was. And now, a few pictures...
Me and Lacie in a park in downtown Seattle.
This was taken just before we walked a few blocks to a spa where we got massages. I really like getting massages. They relax me. I really like being relaxed. Ergo, I really like massages.
This is a really beautiful sunset.
I really love Tucson sunsets. In fact, it is hard for me to appreciate sunsets in places which are not Tucson, because I feel like not many places compare when it comes to day in and day out amazingly vibrant colors cascading across the sky. However, Tucson does not have water. And Tucson does not have big, leafy trees and green. (That may look like a grammatically incorrect sentence, but it really is true: Tucson does not have green.) So, standing on the side of a mountain, overlooking beautiful water (with oyster farms!), shaded by a huge overhanging tree, taking in life and freshness and green, I couldn't help but appreciate this non-Tucson sunset.
This is my really yummy ham and provolone croissant, accompanied by my really yummy locally roasted coffee, which didn't get me nearly as excited as the fresh tulips on every table of the coffee house did. This is enough to make a girl's heart sing. And this, I hear, is nothing compared to the tulip festival they have once all the tulip fields are in bloom. Fields and fields of tulips. Be still my heart. I guess that just means I'll have to make it back to Seattle another spring...
And what's a trip to Seattle without a picture in front of the Market?Lacie humored me and allowed me to make her a tourist for a day. The market really is a fabulous place, though I'm sure it's a different experience when you're a local.
So, that's the trip in pictures. More to come on the vision-casting, relationship-building, God-seeking part later.
