Ah, Family Vacation

Well, it's all over, so now where do I start?

I think I start with the location. My parents' good friends, the Whalens, have this house on Mission Beach that we rented. It's a bit hard to see, but there is a deck on the second floor of the house (in this picture it's just up and to the right from the umbrella).

This is the view from that deck:No, no, you have to look PAST that big yellow building...a little left...yes! It's the OCEAN!

THE OCEAN! To a girl from Arizona, this is pretty exciting stuff.

Our beautiful abode also had a roof deck, from which I watched the sunset on the last night.

What did we do at this lovely locale? Well, we sunned on the beach...

We played in the ocean (we're all watching as my dad attempts to skimboard)...
We lounged with wine and cheese and crackers...
We enjoyed dining at various restaurants (all with fabulous seafood)...
And we did our best to appease our mother, who just had to get several pictures of her five children...
We also slept, watched movies (including the world-famous "Morrison Brothers' Ranch" documentary, now showing at the Gilbert Historical Museum), rode bikes along the boardwalk and had some good family bonding talks. Speaking of bonding, the girls all got these matching bracelets to commemorate the occasion (thanks mom!)...
Now, lest you get the idea that we are all serious posers for our photographs, I will leave you with some of the silliness that is my family.
I love my family.

I hear you about the beach... from a midwestern country gal, I've got about two things I want to do when I get to so cal, go to the beach and lay out on the beach.
hee hee hee

I also really enjoyed the picture of your father skimboarding... if Dads are generally alike, I am assuming that experience led to lots of laughs like my father's experiences and attempts have for my brother and I. Oh Dadsss... there's really no on like them.
