Frozen yogurt places are ubiquitous. And many of them are self-serve. And I think it's wonderful. The other night I went and got a cup of plain tart yogurt with fresh strawberries, raspberries, bluberries, kiwi and mango. It was the most refreshing summer treat!
I'm not sure that I will ever fit in as far as fashion goes. I have seen so many new and interesting things, I just get overwhelmed by them all. Funny story...I bought a dress at a shop on Mission Beach when I was with my mom and sisters. We all decided it was very cute - black and purple with hearts and stripes. I got rave reviews from each of them, so I decided to buy it. Later, I was wearing it, and I looked down and discovered that in addition to hearts and stripes, the dress was decorated with the word "Punk" all over it, and skulls and crossbones in several different sizes. Clearly, they're subtle, because not one person in my family noticed, but now, all I see when I wear it are those stinking skulls...and crossbones...and "PUNK". I'm not sure I will ever fit in as far as fashion goes.
Sometimes it feels like the way things are portrayed in the movies really actually are the way things are here. For example, you know how in the movies, someone from the midwest goes to California and is overwhelmed by how many people they see on cell phones - even little kids? I'm not from the midwest, but I was at the mall yesterday, and I sat watching as a bunch of 10-13 year olds, all dressed in the aforementioned California fashion, all had their cell phones, talking on them as if they were very important calls. It was a bit surreal.
I like living close to the beach. Close to several beaches, in fact. I get to choose which beach I want to visit. That's because there is more than one beach here. That means there is sand, and it's next to water - a big body of water called the Pacific Ocean. It's wonderful.

oh no. california scares people from the midwest. *gulp*
Why are you afraid to wear that dress? You practically define the word "punk" in my mind.
Yeah Krista you gotta keep the dress.
