Did you know?

• Getting a sunburn on the first day of your vacation at the beach can seriously put a damper on things.
• My family is incredibly quirky.
• It is possible to pass approximately 16 notaries on the way to the one notary who will take approximately 6 years to write your name on a piece of paper. (I may have used a bit of hyperbole there.)
• Sunburns are intensely painful. I recommend using more sunscreen than you think you need.
• My new hometown is a top vacation spot. Just ask the thousands of people who have shared Mission Beach with us over the past few days.
• California girls like to show skin. This unnerves me a bit.
• There's something wonderful about taking a vacation right after moving. At this point, moving to San Diego kind of feels like this distant thought that may or may not be reality.
• Swimming in the ocean is really fun. However, bodysurfing and boogie-boarding apparently require skills I don't have.
• Did I mention that you should use lots of sunscreen because a sunburn can really cramp your style?
