Club 5111

Yes, folks, I finally have some pictures for you of my new home in San Diego. Look at that! There's grass in the front yard! And the plants grow without any help from me! We even have Birds of Paradise blooming. Don't let that Arizona license plate fool you, this is definitely NOT Tucson.

That window on the left there, well, that's my bedroom window. Here's what it looks like on the inside: Eileen and I both happened to have white bedspreads, and I was able to somewhat match her pillows, so we've got quite a cute room, if I do say so myself. The beds are actually bunkbeds that we just chose to keep separate, although we had to do some clever maneuvering to get them to fit with the desk, which isn't in this picture. We are fortunate to have our own bathroom in our room.
I had all this bathroom stuff from my college years and my time in the Strudel. I can't tell you how it brought joy to my heart to discover that the bathroom walls and all the fixtures are a perfect match with my stuff. In case you don't know this about me, I like it when things match. :)

And, our awkwardly-shaped-connected-to-the-kitchen-with-a-fireplace-but-best-fitted-to-our-dining-table room. The girls call it the "downstairs", because you have to go down one step to get into it. This works, because you can't really call it the "dining room" or the "living room" or the "family room" or...well, you get the picture. So, this is the downstairs.
The fireplace used to have these two little wooden birds on the shelves at the top. On my recent trip to Tucson, I picked up some plants from the Strudel, and then I found that clock WAY on sale at Target, and suddenly I find this room very inviting. And, with fresh flowers on the table, what more could a girl ask for?
Someday I might take and post pictures of the other parts of our house, including our incredibly retro kitchen, but I think this is a good start.
