A Concert

I've been meaning to post these pictures from a concert my roommate, Ann, was a part of for about a week now, and am only just getting to it. Did you know that between preparing for Christmas, celebrating Christmas, and planning a wedding, suddenly there's not much time for anything else? Fortunately, Christmas and weddings are two of my favorite subjects. I'm grateful to have this time without a full-time job so I can enjoy these things. And that includes this concert.

A guy who is a regular at the coffee shop where my roommate, Cori, works, has become friends with the whole Club 5111 crew. He and his band put on a Christmas show last week, but his keyboard player couldn't play, so they invited Ann to fill in for him. So, we all made our way to this coffee shop to show our support. I don't think there's anything quite like this place in Tucson. It's a coffee shop with a separate room for shows, and they even have a marquee out front.
Cori, Jen and Eileen out front. Patrick Norton is the name of our friend, and his band is called "Aren't They Something." Jinx was a guy from LA totally unconnected to Patrick who opened the show (not my favorite).

Ann making her debut.
This is Patrick.I was so excited to go out and do something with my roomies - we don't usually all get to go out together.
Patrick and Ann after the show.
And, in closing, here is a short clip from the evening. All week long, Ann had been playing Mele Kalikimaka to practice for the concert, and all week long, we laughed and sang along with her. So, when they started to play it during the show, I just had to get some video. Ann's face at the beginning is classic!
