It feels pretty surreal that U of A is in the news again, and this time it's the national news. Yesterday morning two roommates in Graham-Greenlee Hall got into a fight which sent them both to the hospital, where one of them died. The other was released from the hospital and arrested yesterday evening.
This hits pretty close to home, not just because it's U of A, but because Graham-Greenlee is where I've spent much of my time this semester, helping Christy start a freshmen women's Bible study. I know several women in the dorm, and I even spent time on the hall where this happened. We went ahead and had Bible study last night, and I think most of the girls are doing okay, not knowing the parties involved. I'm praying that God will choose to use these women during this time to show Himself to the other residents of the dorm.
After the suicide in Coronado last week, and now a murder in Graham-Greenlee this week, my roommates and I have decided that God must be doing some pretty sweet things at the UA, because Satan is pulling out all the stops. In some ways, it's easy for me to focus on the situations at hand and forget to focus on the One in control. The truth is, He IS in control, and He IS victorious, and that is a comforting thought, indeed.
