After a long week, I'm excited to be going to Pismo Beach for regional staff meetings. I know it sounds funny that I might actually enjoy staff meetings, but I work in the coolest region in the States, and our staff meetings are usually filled with heart-to-heart conversation, uncontrollable laughter, and sweet rest in addition to the business of the region. And, I'll get to spend some much-needed time at the beach. :)
The week ended much better than it started, with a fun time of staff connection. Every semester, we have time set aside for "Class Connections", an opportunity for each class to hang out and bond with their peers. It's totally up to them to come up with a plan, and the staff aren't present, so they have to do the relating on their own. It's a beautiful thing. So, last night, as all the students were headed off to their class connections, the single staff decided to do our own staff connection. We went out for dinner, got tattoos and then engaged in quite the game of miniature golf. Okay, okay, we pressed on tattoos.
Just in case you don't have elvish eyesight, and you haven't brushed up on your Chinese characters, the tattoos are the Chinese symbols for (from left to right) good fortune, happiness, tranquility, love, beauty and courage. Mine came off in the shower this morning, so that tells you something...
Now it's off to Cali.

I like your staff. And I love that you are all so crazy. I heard you and Joni were talking about me. ;) I can't believe it's been 4 years since we pinky swore to be friends. :) Let's get together soon. My pinky misses yours...
