Birthday Celebrations

Somehow God planned it so that 3 out of the 8 staff members on our team have their birthdays within a week of each other. Bryce, Susan and Lori are all another year older, and so we celebrated today with dinner at my house. But first, I got to spend the afternoon with Lori (today being her actual birthday) at the Tohono Chul Tea Room. We had French Vanilla tea, cucumber sandwiches and even scones with jam and Devonshire cream. It was delightful!

Back to dinner... I love that our staff team is able to really enjoy each other. This was the first real dinner party I've had at my house, and really the first one like it which I've ever put on. That being the case, I could have felt a lot of pressure, but it was so fun because I was just making dinner for these friends I love. I got a picture of the table before we all sat down:

Unfortunately, I think I was too focused on dinner to remember to take a picture of the group of us. The food was good and the conversation was fun, and I think at the end of the night our birthday people felt celebrated. Speaking of the end of the night, as everyone was about to go home, Erik, Daniel and Steven, some of the students in our ministry, showed up and serenaded us with some Spanish love songs.

It was quite a treat! Happy birthday Bryce, Susan and Lori!!!!
