Let it Snow!

I can hardly believe it, but it has been snowing here in the middle of Tucson this afternoon and into the evening. Fun little anecdote: the last time I experienced snow in Phoenix (I hear it's been snowing there, too) was when I was seven years old. My family had just moved back to Gilbert after 2 1/2 years in Colorado Springs, and it was in the middle of the winter. We left my house in the Springs covered in snow. Anyway, it started to snow while we were all in school, and the principal came on the intercom and told everyone to go outside to see the snow. All the kids were so excited, but I was thinking "What's the big deal? It's just a few snowflakes, not even a real snowstorm!" Funny how 16 years (and no snow in Phoenix or Tucson) later, I'm so excited by a few snowflakes!

So, above this post is a little video I took this afternoon, and here are a couple pictures this evening...

These are my pots with what will hopefully grow into Irises this spring. I wonder if the snow will affect them... I've already lost a bougainvillea and two lantana plants to the frost; hopefully I haven't killed everything green in my yard.
