Wedding Weekend, Round 2

One of my favorite parts about being a wedding coordinator is getting to be behind the scenes - seeing the sweet moments with mom, or the funny moments with the guys, or even the moments where you wish things would go just a bit differently... Ann and Berry's wedding had them all, and it was a joy to get to be part of it.

So, without further ado, how about some pictures? And maybe I'll throw in a behind-the-scenes moment or two. Ann was an absolutely beautiful bride.
But before getting all dolled up, every bride's gotta eat.
The girls all got ready in a great-size-for-two-but-a-bit-small-for-six hotel room with less than stellar air conditioning. This normally wouldn't be an issue in San Diego, but (wouldn't you know?) we had a record heat wave come through that weekend. It was hot. And I couldn't help but feel for these guys...
I learned something new for this wedding. The guys had a few different uniform options. You may be familiar with the term "dress whites". But did you know that "dress blues" are actually black? And don't worry, the two guys with blue pants are supposed to be wearing blue pants. In the Navy, dress blues are all black. In the Marines, dress blues are black on top and blue on bottom. Go figure. Don't you just love a man in uniform?
The ladies seemed to enjoy themselves in spite of the heat.
Ann's bridesmaids were her two sisters and Berry's two sisters.
Her maid of honor was her best friend of 18 years, Caitlin. When you're best friends for 18 years, you put up with a lot. During the 4 days that Catilin was in town, Ann dotingly referred to her as "Maid"...as in, "Maid! Come help me do this!" or "Maid! Go get me that!"...all in good fun, of course. This is Ann's "bridezilla" shot, with Maid.
A note about the flowers. The first flowers Berry ever gave to Ann were red and white. He said it was to symbolize the passion and the purity in their relationship. So, when it came time to decide about flowers, Ann wanted to pay tribute to that, and therefore she carried one red and one white rose. Her bridesmaids carried single white roses, and the mothers and fathers carried/wore single red roses. I thought it was so sweet, and I loved the symbolism.
The song for the processional was the Freedom Theme from Braveheart. Ann had been dreaming of walking down the aisle to that song since she heard it, and we all thought it was especially fitting, since she had prayed for (and gotten!) a warrior.

Check in again soon for Round 3!

Oh, and lest I fail to give her enough credit, all these amazing photos were taken by Callie Murray at www.achorandeden.com.
